- The season is from May 13-August 30, 2024.
- Hours of work are 8am-4:30pm (7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week).
Position Summary
As directed by the Manager of Agricultural and Environmental Services, the Administrative Clerk is responsible for entering and maintaining summer program records, responding to enquiries, and providing excellent customer service. The Administrative Clerk ensures that all information handled is accurate and confidentiality maintained.
Core Accountabilities
- Facilitates the Rental Equipment Program which includes contact with residents, scheduling of delivery and pick-up of traps and equipment, ensuring instructions and safe use procedures are reviewed and maintains the inventory log.
- Coordinate and organize customer service requests by maintaining customer service data, forwarding service requests with background information and relevant mapping references for action, and conducting or facilitating all relevant communications with residents.
- Provides references and contact referrals to support agriculture and rural living for residents.
- Provides administrative support to the department and actions related administrative requests, as required.
- Leverages technology provided to work efficiently and in an organized manner to ensure accuracy and to assist in streamlining operations.
- Work in accordance with the requirements established by the RVC Health and Safety Program and the Alberta OHS Act, Regulation and Code.
- Take reasonable care to protect the health and safety of themselves and other persons at or in the vicinity of the worksite while they are working.
- Other administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
Completion of high school along with a minimum 1 year of experience in data entry.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated superior customer service skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle information in a confidential manner, in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act and County policies.
- Comfortable working on computers and filing systems.
- Ability to stay focused on repetitive tasks and process a large volume of work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Demonstrated cooperative team player, able to maintain a positive attitude and foster a positive work environment.
- Understanding of the farming and agricultural industry, with an understanding of rural living and a passion for agricultural advocacy, are considered assets for this position.
