Deputy Clerk
Reporting to the Town Clerk/Manager of Legislative Services, the Deputy Clerk will perform the statutory duties and functions of the Clerk as required, with specific focus on coordination of Boards, Committees and Records Management. Responsibilities include day-to-day administrative coordination; preparing by-laws, resolutions, and correspondence; conducting research; report writing and editing; attending meetings; assisting in municipal elections; completing special projects and assignments; act as Deputy Division Registrar for Vital Statistics; and providing confidential administrative support.

Qualifications:Degree or advanced diploma in public administration, political science, legal studies or related discipline.Three (3) to five (5) years relevant municipal experience, including experience dealing with municipal committeesCompletion of Municipal Administration Program with a preference for a Diploma in Municipal Administration.Completion of AOMC and AMP designations, or willingness to obtain.Completion of Parliamentary Procedures course work or related experience.Strong records management knowledge and experience.Proficiency in a Microsoft Office environment, including database management skills.Ability to demonstrate tact and discretion in handling matters of a confidential or politically sensitive nature to maintain confidentiality.Excellent administrative, organizational, communication, multi-tasking, interpersonal, time management, report writing, problem solving and minute-taking skills.High level of initiative and independent judgment and ability to work as a key member of the team with minimum supervision.Hold a valid Ontario Driver's License.
