**First Aid Instructor**

**Fernie, BC**

**Duties**:
College of the Rockies, Fernie Campus is looking to hire a qualified WorkSafe Occupational First Aid, Red Cross First Aid and St. John Ambulance First Aid Instructor.

**Qualifications**:
We are seeking applicants who hold the following qualifications:

- WorkSafe BC OFA Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced First Aid Instructor Certification
- St John Ambulance First Aid Instructor Certification valid in BC.
- Red Cross First Aid Instructor Certification valid in BC

This posting is for an initial six-month contract with a 70% workload. Additional and on-going work may be available depending on certifications and availability to travel (i.e. instructing at our other regional campuses; Creston, Golden, Invermere, Gold Creek/Cranbrook).

As a First Aid Instructor for College of the Rockies you must possess strong communication skills including public speaking and delivering effective feedback to students, maintain a high degree of professionalism, and be able to perform physical tasks such as the moving and maintenance of first aid equipment, prolonged kneeling, bending and standing. Successful instructors will demonstrate efficient and effective problem-solving skills, a proven work ethic, ability to maintain detailed and complete documentation of course files, and manage time effectively to ensure optimal course delivery.

Successful applicants are preferred to have at least 2 years teaching experience, additional adult education training is an asset. As a First Aid Instructor with COTR you will be working on a contract basis as part of the College of the Rockies Continuing Education Department. Instructors will participate in instructor updates and are responsible for following all of the policies and procedures as set out by the COTR First Aid Center, while adhering to all professional standards and regulations as set out by their certification(s).

**Salary**:
6-Month Term: $4,667 per month.
