- Scale Minimum Maximum- NONU 07 $52.59/hr $63.75/hr**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Clinical Care Leader is a delegated position of leadership, direction, and supervision that ensures the effective, efficient, and organized daily operations of the clinical unit.
- Participate in the evaluation of clinical competencies, progressive improvement of patient care delivery, human resource utilization, environmental concerns, and materials management
- Ensure there is adequate staffing levels based on patient acuity and standards of care guidelines including NAPAN Standards of Care for the Post Anesthetic Care Unit
- Facilitates the implementation of the professional practice model by promoting and ensuring the delivery of patient care meets the standards of QCH and the professional disciplines where applicable
- Ensure corporate patient flow and bed management targets are achieved
- Work closely with the physicians and medical team to support engagement in the effective and efficient operation of the unit
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Clinical Manager and Clinical Educator to ensure all staff members receive orientation to support a safe and competent working environment
- Participate in the implementation of practice changes
- Foster and maintains a positive environment that promotes and supports the activities of the unit
- Ensure that physical environment is safe, organized, and maintained
- Ensure effective, efficient, and organized management of supplies and equipments
- Develop, demonstrate, and maintain honest, open, and clear lines of communication with all members of the health care team, physicians, other departments, community groups, and agencies that promotes engagement, trust and cooperation
- Model positive acceptance towards change and support others to adapt to change
- Foster and maintain a health care team who can respond to the immediate needs of the patients
- Coach and develop staff to think critically and to solve problems
- Assume a leadership role in unit/program projects or hospital wide initiatives
- Contribute to policy and procedure development/review
- Be responsible for the management of patient experience initiatives and oversight for the implementation of Continuous Performance Improvement on the unit
- Ensure quality and performance measurement metrics and targets are achieved
- Participate in identifying opportunities for clinical and administrative efficiencies
- Demonstrates QCH values: collaboration, accountability, innovation and respect

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) Membership
- Minimum 3 to 5 years recent relevant clinical experience
- Recent leadership/management experience (within the last 5 years)
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills
- Evidence of facilitation, collaboration, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated information technology/systems competency

**PREFERRED**:

- Master’s Degree in a related discipline (or in progress)
- Experience with leading Quality Improvement Initiatives
- Experience with clinical documentation in an Electronic Health Record
- Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) and/or other related certifications
- Membership in Specialty related Professional Association
