**The start date will follow the selection process.**

This position is eligible to work remotely on a full-time basis.

**Characteristic Duties**:Under the general supervision of the Manager of Strategy, Innovation and Performance.
- Plan and conduct economic research into the local labour market to supply current and extensive information to Division staff for the purpose of formulating program policy directions.
- Collect and analyse data on the Division’s caseload profile indicators to support continuous improvement on increased employability measures, employment earnings and employment outcomes.
- Devise methods and procedures for collecting and processing data, utilizing available sources of data.
- Compile, review and analyse current labour market information dealing with local labour supply and demand, employment trends, economic profiles, forecasts and other conditions affecting employment.
- Develop listings of demand occupations and emerging skill sets as required.
- Act as liaison with Federal and Provincial government agencies and colleges and/or universities engaged in economic and related research and planning matters.
- Develop and provide written material, comprehensive reports, quarterly labour market bulletin, visual presentations and other documentation to inform Division staff and community partners.
- Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS's Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
- Perform other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree in a related field (e.g. Social Science, Business Administration, Economics, Community Development) from a recognized University with Canadian accreditation.
- Minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience.
- Knowledge of social and economic problems impacting upon employment and industrial data.
- Knowledge of non-profit and community agencies in CGS.
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Works Program and related technology (e.g. CWT, SDMT).
- Demonstrate organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with the public in a courteous and effective manner.
- Excellent use of English, verbally and in writing.
- French verbal and written skills an asset.
- Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
- Physical capability to operate a vehicle safely; possession of a valid driver’s licence.
