Emergency Preparedness Specialist

**The Opportunity**:
Do you have superior customer service skills and the ability to work independently? Do you have experience in Emergency Response in Industrial Environment? We have an opportunity for a Emergency Preparedness Specialist to join our team
Reporting to the Emergency Services Superintendent, you will monitor direct and report on all aspects of emergency planning, compliance, systems and procedure development at Horizon and Albian Sands. You will monitor, coordinate and direct activities of the Emergency Operations Center Coordinator, Site Emergency Preparedness and Site Emergency Response Plan activities, as required
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Develop, implement, and maintain Emergency Response Plan (ERP) policies, procedures and processes which protect Horizon and Albian personnel, assets and reputation
- Coordinate with other business units in the development of their ERP to ensure alignment and common processes advise all Albian and Horizon Site departments on interpretation of ERP policies, procedures, and best practices
- Lead the development of CEPA E2 plans with the Emergency Services group
- Coordinate the management of the EOC and the Directors on-call rosters along with all mock exercises
- Work with Emergency Services to ensure that all business units have procedures and facilities in place for emergencies
- Ensure that the required training for site personnel is in place
- Assist departments with business continuity planning as needed
- Liaise with outside agencies, including all levels of service providers relative to emergency preparedness, law enforcement and First Nations and Metis groups in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo
- Direct the development of the ERP and the Emergency Operations Center and the coordination of business unit ERP’s with the site plan
- Comply with all Health and Safety Requirements established by Canadian Natural Resources Limited
**Other Details**:
- Job location: Fort McMurray, Alberta - Horizon Project site
- Shift schedule: 4 x 3, 10 hours/day or 7 x 7, 12 hours/day
- This is a safety sensitive position
**Skills & Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education recommended
- 7+ years of experience in an Emergency Response in Industrial Environment
- 3+ years supervisory experience in an Industrial Environment is preferred
- Some experience with diverse and northern populations and remote locations considered an asset
- Disaster planning, emergency services, law enforcement, paramedic or industrial hygiene experience considered an asset
- An understanding of the role of the ERP, EOC and Critical Infrastructure Risk Assessments at a large industrial site
- Safety Codes training and certification considered an asset
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational and leadership abilities
