**Position Overview
- The Manager, Accounting is responsible for overseeing the month-end accounting processes and ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions for select operational units of the Company. This role plays a critical part in managing the month-end close process, reconciling accounts, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the integrity of financial information in the general ledger._
- The Manager, Accounting leads planning and execution of integration of acquired companies into the Accounting function, and supports development and implementation of standardized processes, key performance indicators (KPIs), and controls and procedure documentation with a shared services mindset. The Manager, Accounting leads a team of accounting professionals and_ fosters a collaborative and high-performing team environment._

**Key Responsibilities**
- _Manages the month-end close process for select operational units, enabling timely and accurate financial reporting._
- _Coordinates with various departments to gather and review financial data, ensuring completeness and accuracy._
- _Prepares and reviews journal entries, account reconciliations, and other month-end close deliverables._
- _Implements and maintains effective internal control processes to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data integrity._
- _Ensures compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements._
- _Collaborates with external auditors during audits to provide necessary documentation and support._
- _Collaborates with the Integration team and business unit finance teams on integration of acquired companies; leads the integration activities for the Accounting function._
- _Drives standardization and process optimization efforts within the Accounting function with a shared services mindset._
- _Ensures improvements in accounting policies and procedures and monitors compliance across the organization._
- _Develops and implements KPIs and KPI reporting for the Accounting function._
- _Supports project delivery including ERP implementation and other automation initiatives, as required._
- _Supervises and mentors a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day activities._
- _Conducts performance evaluations and provides ongoing feedback to team members._
- _Identifies training needs and coordinates training programs to enhance the team's technical and professional skills._
- _Fosters a collaborative and high-performing team environment._
- _Other duties as assigned._

**Qualifications and Requirements**
- _CPA or equivalent certification in good standing and work experience with a major accounting firm is required._
- _Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience _in various accounting and finance roles of increasing responsibility and complexity_, with specific experience in month-end close processes._
- _Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards._
- _Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems; proficiency in using Workday considered an asset._
- _Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate financial data._
- _Attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting._
- _Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools._
- _Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and deliver change supporting the Company’s priorities._
- _Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment._
- _Strong planning and organization skills, including managing and coordinating tasks and project plans._
- _Acquisition and integration experience would be considered an asset._
