**The Club**

With roots dating back to as early as 1886 as the Winnipeg Skating Club, the Winnipeg Winter Club occupies an important place in Winnipeg’s social and athletic history.

In 1929, the Winnipeg Winter Club formed from its forerunner, the Skating Club, to include other indoor activities. The WWC opened its current home at 200 River Avenue in 1949.

Today, the Winnipeg Winter Club is a multi-generational, non-profit, member-owned club that offers a one-of-a-kind combination of sports, recreation, and social amenities. Our 100,000+ square foot facility is located in the heart of Winnipeg. National champions and Canadian Olympians have fostered their careers at the Winnipeg Winter Club.

Our Club’s programs and amenities cater to all ages, individuals as well as families. We aim to make the Club the best part of each Member’s day.

**Reporting to the General Manager, the successful incumbent is responsible for the preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements, bank reconciliations, monthly billing, monthly JEs & Accruals, budgets, and other duties as assigned. In addition, the person will provide day-to-day support to WWC member transactions.**

**Position**

The Accounting Manager is a management position, reporting to the General Manager.

Duties include:

- Bank Reconciliations
- Inputting Monthly Billings
- Monthly JEs & Accruals
- Monthly GST
- Preparing Financial Statements
- Preparing Bi-Weekly Payroll
- Reviewing and Managing Department Budgets
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Daily Member Transactions
- Managing Accounting Assistant

**Previous experience in the management and administration of a complex organization with multiple lines of business and a diverse array of services. Strong business acumen complimented by financial and management skills is a must. We require a leader who is results-driven, entrepreneurial, and has a passion for promoting continuous development and change management initiatives.**
- A post-secondary degree in Accounting and/or Financial Analysis or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience with accounting and financial analysis in a computerized environment;
- Proficient in the preparation of monthly financial statements and maintenance of electronic working papers;
- Proficient in accounting and auditing and a strong understanding of accounting principles;
- Proficiency in using accounting software programs i.e. ACCPAC, Microsoft Office Suite, and some POS systems;
- Full cycle accounting experience is a must;
- Proficient in developing and analyzing financial data;
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment;
- Ability to work within the budgeted time and meet deadlines;
- Strong time management skills and ability to multitask;
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Highly organized and efficient;
- Enhanced background screening will be required.

**Compensation**
