- Job Description:_

The primary responsibilities of this position are to help tell our stories through various forms of media and provide expertise on effective communication of ministry specific messages. The Communications Coordinator will manage church wide communications and better facilitate connections within our church family.

**Overview of Responsibilities**
- Social Media_
- Create a digital presence that exemplifies our mission and vision, acting as a continuation of Sunday Service.
- Strategize and manage a social media calendar
- Create and manage social media content, including language that tells the story of Hope Springs United Church through Facebook and YouTube.
- Communications_
- Edit and distribute the weekly church e-newsletter to HSUC membership.
- Schedule the weekly livestream of Sunday morning worship service.
- Serve as a point of contact for media and public questions.
- Report on the effectiveness of communication strategies to the Official Board.
- Other communication initiatives as required.
- Website_
- Ensure HSUC website is up to date, accurate, and fully functioning.
- Provide guidance to the Worship Committee about what content is needed.
- Oversee general website content and maintenance and ensure accessibility standards meet WCAG 2.0 standards.
- Administration_
- General administration duties as required.
- Assist in the maintenance of the HSUC membership database.
- Create a welcome package for new members to HSUC.
- Back-up administration during July and August to assist with:
➔Weekly Sunday worship bulletin.

➔Prepare weekly Sunday slide show presentations for church service.
- Volunteer Coordination_

Support and coordinate volunteers for weekly Sunday service that include:

- Scripture readers
- Tech support (for virtual Sunday service)
- Sunday morning worship Greeters
- Coffee Hour hosts
- Communion volunteers (preparation of communion and communion servers)
- Sunday church volunteers (opening and closing building)
- Knowledge and Skills_
- Relevant experience in a communication role.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Good time management, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency leveraging social media platforms (Facebook and YouTube)
- Self starter with ability to work independently.

Contract remuneration: $24.00 per hour

Hours of work: 20 hours per week

Work term: 12 months

Accountability: Reports to the Official Board

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Elora, ON N0B 1S0
