The Aviation Specialist position is located in Calgary, working with the Firebag Airport Aviation group and typically reports directly to the Site Manager at the Suncor Airport and works very closely with a dotted line to Team Lead of Aviation Operations, Suncor. The Aviation Specialist is responsible for overseeing and providing direction for the day to day operation of all activity involving Suncor Scheduled Charter Flights, providing support to various Charter Airlines that are operating on Suncor's behalf. This role also provides critical support during any time of irregular operation / disruption of schedule to Suncor's Travel Services and ground transportation teams, along with the Firebag Aerodrome, to re-establish our normal schedule.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Ensure compliance with IATA, federal and local regulations regarding aircraft and crew scheduling. All facets of Corporate Flight operations, as well as establish Suncor aviation operations policies
- Meet all KPI's, objectives, policies and procedures for Demand and Yield Management
- Assume Yield Management process from scheduling department and adjust as necessary for all flights operating within the following 48 hours
- Enforce established policies and procedures, emergency plans, SOP's, ASP, etc. support Westjet OCC as and when required
- Conduct Daily Morning Operations calls, providing key information to various stakeholders in regards to previous day/day of operations.
- Provide remote support for Firebag Aerodrome contract staff, problem solving and recommending action during day of operations
- Maintain Manuals/Emergency plans / Flight Operations etc.
- Actively participate in Suncor SMS and ERP procedures and exercises.
- Implement goal, objectives, policies and procedures for SAS Team
- Contribute to a cohesive and effective team in a deadline driven environment
- Responsible for providing initial reports for Denied Passengers at the airport, including cancelling bookings and deactivating Travel Profiles for unauthorized Travellers.
- Responsible for reconciling manifests in Amelia for each charter flight on a daily basis.
- Responsible for approving and coordinating all Cargo and COMAT requests requiring transportation by Air in and out of Firebag for all Business Units
- When day of operations manifest changes are required, responsible for coordinating business priorities with WestJet for critical roles.
- Provide approvals and first point of contact for Late show/Go show Suncor passengers to WestJet Guest Solutions.
- Provide day of support to Travel Coordinators (both internal and external) when it comes to passenger bookings and requests
- Act as the Suncor representative during IROPs and provide information/guidance to WestJet for IROP recovery.
- Communication to Suncor stakeholders during non-normal events (including but not limited to updating the Suncor website and providing Suncor IROP notifications).
- Participate in WJ OCC operational conference calls and provide any concerns from a YFI and YMM operations perspective (YFI airport, bussing, accommodations, etc.)
- Track and record KPIs for air operations as per the commercial contract and provide information regarding delay investigations.
- Monitor and track Suncor charter schedule changes including cancelations, flight additions and up-gauge and down-gauges related to commercial contract terms.
- Act as the Suncor liaison for ERP events.
- Ensure WestJet AQD events on Suncor charters operated by WestJet are translated into Suncor EH&S reporting.
- Participate in regularly scheduled stakeholder meeting between WestJet and Suncor to participate in continuous operational improvement discussions.
- Provide onsite operational support during RMT events
- Able to travel (10%)

- Secondary duties, as required, may include but not limited to: conducting environmental, safety and quality checks, general housekeeping in support of a healthy and safe workplace environment and taking proactive and corrective measures in these areas.

**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**
- High School Graduate
- Proficient use of Microsoft Works, including, outlook, word, excel, and Internet Explorer
- High school diploma, military or airport operations work experience. Directly related professional experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances required to work at an airport
