Perennia is looking for a highly capable **Technical Project** **Lead **to direct the On-Farm Climate Action Fund Program (OFCAF) field demo plan, training, and resource development plan for this program in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland & Labrador.

The **OFCAF Technical Project Lead** is a high-profile position and as such, must have sound and mature judgement. They must be able to work effectively with their colleagues and a variety of stakeholders and clients to implement the plan under mínimal supervision. **The OFCAF Technical Project Lead **will work as part of a progressive and professional team with the primary focus to develop and lead a comprehensive program for farmers, agrologists and certified crop advisors to help mitigate the impacts of climate change with a focus on carbon sequestration through advancing information and best management practices in nitrogen management, cover cropping, and rotational grazing.

This is an 18-month term position ending March 31, 2025, with the possibility of a several-year extension based on future funding. This position’s home office base will be Kentville or Truro. Thus, even if you work predominantly at home, our preference is that you be within easy access to one of these offices.

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Execute the current knowledge transfer plan for beneficial management practices in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador with Perennia specialists and outside contractors and the internal OFCAF Management Team
- Oversee the work of one project assistant assigned to the program
- Co-ordinate onsite demo sites including selection, development, and field tours
- Develop and/or co-ordinate the development and tracking of resources including fact sheets, blog posts, videos, webinars, etc.
- Make presentations to industry and professional groups on the program and attending virtual meetings with funders
- Track program metrics and work with the finance team to ensure adherence to the budget
- Prepare a revised plan for 2024-25 covering field demos, resource development and training needs to implement the program objectives
- Prepare program reporting as directed by the funder

**In order to excel at this position, the successful applicant will have**:

- BSC or MSc. in an agriculture-related discipline or extended experience and professional agrologist designation or eligibility
- Additional courses or professional designation required (specify): Professional agrologist (P.Ag.) and/or Certified Crop Advisor
- Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.) and Certified Crop Advisor (mandatory)
- Experience in the horticulture industry with experience in extension, knowledge transfer and applied research
- Experience in technology-based knowledge transfer to the agriculture industry would be an asset with demonstrated experience or aptitude in blogs, videos, podcasts and/or webinars
- Experience in experimental design and statistical analysis
- The ability to develop successful relationships with colleagues, producers, industry associations and government is essential
- Excellent organization, interpersonal, communication, facilitation, time management and computer skills
- Experience in project management would be an asset
