**Position Title**: Settlement Analyst**

**Team and Location: Order to Cash - Calgary, AB**

**Starting Minimum Salary from: $59,000 /year**

**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Settlements, this position is responsible for reconciling, analyzing, and minimizing risk for AR balances related to our Retail business models. The role employs accounting principles and analytical techniques to ensure compliance with accounting / SOX standards. The position interfaces with several internal and external groups, including Finance, Treasury, Tax, Projects, Retail Operations, and Procurement, as well as a multitude of external Suppliers. The role will also focus on process efficiency and effectiveness of the AR Settlements Group.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in training new team members on best practices and analytical approaches.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and control improvements within the department.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
- Participate in planning, organizing, and controlling process flow and payment obligations in adherence to Accounts Receivable policies and procedures.
- Contribute to and take ownership of AR road map tasks related to Retail AR.
- Recommend improvements to the Retail settlement process.
- Manage reconciliation of AR account balances within the portfolio.
- Generate weekly aging reports with detailed information on aged items.
- Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
- Upload monthly recurring charges to retailers/dealers to ensure consistent collection of revenue
- Completing daily settlements/reconciliations for our retailers and dealers for amounts owed
- Creating settlement reports and sending to appropriate team’s with required information needed for PAD transfers
- Processing Customer Refunds when the retailer/dealer is owed money
- Crediting back retailer/dealers for Promotional Items
- Responding to inquiries that come through from internal and external customers
- Working closely with Operations for support on high risk items

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Accounting background is an asset.
- Reconciliation experience is a prerequisite.
- Proficient in an electronic accounts receivable processing environment.
- Familiarity with large ERP Systems such as JDE, SAP, Peoplesoft, or similar is necessary.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively conveying information to all stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills.
- Exhibits strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Capable of developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships.
- Possesses strong critical analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates strong time management skills with the ability to respond to critical deadlines, changing priorities, and requirements.
