Journeyman Pipefitter

**Please note this position is located in Onoway, AB. You MUST have reliable transportation to commute daily.**

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Comply with Academy HSE program
- Displays a commitment to Academy’s safety program, values, and culture
- Read and interpret isometric drawings for fabrication
- Fit up and tack piping as per isometric drawings
- Layout and mark piping for cutting
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
- Operate previously set-up welding machines
- May be required to operate a skid steer
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
- The ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels
- Mentor and works closely with Pipefitter Apprentices
- Attend daily toolbox meetings
- Properly and consistently follow established procedures
- Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Maintains good housekeeping in work area
- Report personal injuries, no matter how minor, and obtain medical attention as required

**Requirements**:

- Journeyman Pipefitter Ticket
- Knowledge of best practices within the industry
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- 6+ years of experience working in a fabrication shop
- English language fluency is required
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs and be physically able to complete fabrication shop labour
- Must have a valid CSTS-09 (Construction Safety Training Systems) certification
- Must possess WHMIS 2015 certification

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- pipe fabrication: 5 years (required)
- large bore pipe: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Journeyman Pipefitter Ticket (required)
