**How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team**:
TRCA’s Strategic Plan recognizes the need to accelerate urban retrofits as a critical component of building a resilient, sustainable Living City Region. To achieve this vision, TRCA’s Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Program (SNAP) takes a collaborative, neighbourhood-based approach to identify strategic local actions in the public and private realm, overcome challenges and build leadership capacity for implementation.

This position plays an integral role in the SNAP Program by implementing neighbourhood-based projects and programs across public and private land, including apartment tower/multi-unit residential revitalization, residential home retrofits, park renewal, and streetscape transformation. The Coordinator will be the public face of the program and will interact with municipal stakeholders, residents, businesses, non-government organizations, and community groups.

Under guidance of the Project Manager, SNAP Projects, key aspects of this role include engagement of stakeholders from across sectors and coordination of design, implementation, and tracking of projects and programs in: urban agriculture, green infrastructure, climate mitigation, stormwater management, healthy active living, as well as community resilience and adaptation measures. Working in close collaboration with the Project Manager, SNAP Projects, the Coordinator also carries out duties that contribute to the development and implementation of other aspects of neighbourhood-based urban retrofit plans.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate planning and implementation of sustainability initiatives on private and public land, including urban agriculture and urban forest/ habitat initiatives, tower revitalization and tenant-centered projects and programs, home retrofit programs, park renewal and animation, streetscape transformation and circular economy initiatives.
- Work with staff from other teams and external stakeholders to design, implement and track impact of projects and programs, building long-term working relationships for shared action.
- Design and deliver innovative in-person and virtual community engagement events and activities to promote urban retrofit actions, support community co-design, create community connections, and recruit new participants.
- Develop and launch program promotion supporting strategic marketing for the neighbourhood including letters, flyers, signage, posters, website, and social media content.
- Maintain program and event records, including conducting follow-ups to track progress, responding to enquiries, and preparing reports.
- Manage event and program expenditures within budget, reporting to Project Manager.
- Working in collaboration with the Project Manager, support development of SNAP Action Plans and implementation projects, including participating in Project Management and/or Implementation Team meetings, assembling technical and demographic information, arranging and documenting stakeholder meetings, researching state-of-the-art approaches, securing approvals, etc.
- Perform other assigned duties in support of team or divisional objectives, including participating in/ chairing team coordination meetings, supporting grant proposal writing, monthly metrics reporting, and coordination of corporate marketing requests.

**What will you need to succeed**:

- Four (4) year post-secondary degree in environmental studies, geography, engineering, urban sustainability, marketing/communications, or business.
- Valid G driver’s license.
- Three (3) years of work experience related to major tasks.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience involving communications with the public for instruction, demonstration, or promotional purposes.
- Working knowledge and understanding of urban sustainability in a retrofit context.
- General knowledge of environmental benefits of tree planting, energy and water conservation and lot level stormwater management.
