**ONE (1) PERMANENT FULL-TIME CLINICAL MANAGER**
**Mental Health, King Street Site/Regional**
**NBRHC - North Bay King Street Site**
**Salary: from $112,593 to $140,751 yearly based on experience**
Based at the King Street Community Campus of NBRHC, this Clinical Manager role reports to the
Director and supports the portfolio inclusive of Nipissing Specialized Geriatric Services (i.e. Behavioural
Supports Ontario, Seniors’ Mental Health, Specialized Geriatric Clinic) and North East Behavioural
Supports Ontario (NE BSO). The Manager is responsible for the widespread management, clinical
operations, system leadership and evolving program development alongside regional leadership
representing older adults/care partners living with complex and chronic geriatric medical, mental health
and behavioural health conditions.
**KEY DUTIES INCLUDE: **
Leads and collaborates with inter-professional health care teams to achieve operational and
person-centered care objectives across streams; collaborates to develop and promote integrated
care pathways.
Provides leadership to create and maintain practice environments that support a culture of safety
and continuous quality improvement in partnership with staff/affiliates, patients, families, and
community partners.
Facilitates staff/ team learning and development, fosters clinical competence, and promotes the
population.
Manages the program’s human resources; oversees recruitment and retention to support
program needs, supervises day-to-day activity, sets performance targets and evaluates employee
performance.
Develops annual budgets, considers peer benchmark comparators, and monitors staffing
patterns, operational costs and activity volumes, taking corrective action as required.
Acts as a mentor, a motivator, and an advocate for the staff and programs, and plays a key role in
shaping future direction.
**EDUCATION:
**Minimum four (4) year Bachelor’s Degree with a specialization within a health related field from
an accredited university
Master’s Degree in health or business administration or related discipline is an asset
Current certificate of registration in good standing with an applicable regulatory college is required
Certification in mental health and/or gerontology an asset
**CERTIFICATES/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
**Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working as a health professional in a health care environment
Minimum of two (2) years working in a leadership/supervisory role, preferably in a health care
environment
Certificates in all of the following core competencies: PIECES; DementiAbility; Gentle Persuasive
Approach (GPA); Trauma Informed Care; and Six Core Strategies required
Current Non-Violent Crisis intervention (NVCI) certificate required
Demonstrated knowledge to practice in the management complex and chronic geriatric, mental
health and behavioural health conditions/syndromes and their effects on care partners.
Demonstrated knowledge of Specialized Geriatric Services across the care continuum including
primary care, specialty care and community support services (e.g. Alzheimer’s society, Ontario
Health at Home).
**SKILLS/ABILITIES**:
Demonstrated excellence in clinical reasoning, critical thinking skills, assessment, documentation,
intervention and care planning skills required
Superior leadership, communication, team building and creative problem solving skills required
Excellent human resource management skills including recruitment, retention and motivation of
staff required
Demonstrated cultural awareness and competencies in working with patients and care partners
from diverse backgrounds required
Excellent budgeting and financial management skills required
Experience with change management, program development, proposal writing and innovation
required
Proficient computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and patient
information systems required
Knowledge of human resources/labour relation practices, relevant government legislation (e.g.
Mental Health Act), and principles of management required
Understanding of multiple regulated health professions and associated Acts required
Familiarity with collective agreements and scheduling required
Demonstrated time management, prioritization and organizational skills required
Willingness to accommodate regional travel with access to reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
required
Demonstrated commitment to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events required
Demonstrated good attendance requiredCriminal Reference Check including the Vulnerable Sector Check recent within six (6) months is a
