We are looking for a **Methods Officer (Mechanical)** to join our Satellite Systems team in our Montreal office.

**Role**:
This position is a mid-level position within the Mechanical Production group. Provide a technical interface between the Production and Engineering groups. Suggest materials and processes that could be used in the assembly of equipment. Suggest methods related to production and support the Manufacturing group during the assembly phase. This position requires mínimal supervision from higher positions.

**Responsibility/Tasks**:

- Suggest to the Engineering group during the design phase possible assembly methods or materials based on experience.
- Review production drawings.
- Suggest assembly methods for components and mechanical assemblies of simple to intermediate complexity.
- Write part routings according to approved processes in effect for assemblies/parts for which he/she is responsible.
- Transfer work orders and follow up on production.
- Follow the production schedule by identifying deviations and suggesting contingency plans.
- Assist assemblers by performing detailed reviews during production (production milestones, final verification).
- Suggest and integrate rework procedures caused by non-conformance (NCR, DIN, SNAG, DR, TNR, ECN) to work orders and follow up as per established provisions.
- Ensure that work is performed in accordance with internal procedures and in compliance with our Occupational Health and Safety rules.
- Assist senior technologists in their duties by supporting upcoming and ongoing project activities.
- Assist in maintaining the efficiency of the production labs and suggest improvements.
- Performs other related duties.

**Minimum qualifications required**:

- College diploma in mechanical engineering technology or equivalent.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Good knowledge of production techniques and mechanical assembly processes.
- Knowledge of mechanical assembly tools, manufacturing processes and machining tools.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft software and a database (Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system).
- Fluency in spoken and written French. Knowledge of English is an asset.
