Introduction The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing a bi-weekly payroll for a large group of Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education employees, using multiple computer programs including Excel and SAP. This will include compiling timekeeping information of employees, ensuring accurate calculations of pay and deductions according to the hours worked, producing multiple reports and records of employment. This position is also responsible for responding appropriately to inquiries from employees, internal and governmental agencies regarding payroll related questions and requests.
Minimum Requirements Completion of Grade 12
Recognized Business Diploma/Degree from Community College or UniversityPrior experience working with private and confidential information.
Proven success in detail-oriented work environment.
3 Years´ experience in payroll procedures including proven proficiency in the operation of a computerized payroll/HR system. Preference given for SAP Payroll experience.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Additional Assets PCP Designation through the Canadian Payroll Association, or equivalent obtained through training and experience.
Managing and prioritizing multiple tasks in an environment with high volume of data, strict deadlines, requirement for attention to detail and data integrity.Working effectively in a team environment and supporting the management team on matters relating to the payroll process
