Pastry Chef

**Requirements**:
- Educated Pastry Chef and/or Red Seal Pastry Chef
- Effectively communicate all store needs to store management
- Assist management with completing tasks related to the day-to-day operations in the back of house Ability to follow recipes and adapt our base recipes
- Experience in creative large and extravagant custom cakes and wedding cakes
- Stays calm and works well under significant pressure
- Abilities to meet deadlines and order cut offs
- Ability to make large batches of cake batter, cupcakes, cookies, pastries, tea cakes, squares, macarons, buttercream and sauces
- Works well without distraction under little to no supervision
- Demonstrates competencies of a critical thinker
- 2+ years Experience in face to face customer service.
- Barista experience an asset but not a requirement.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Willingness to be trained on our processes and ability to take constructive criticism
- Ability to work with and provide service to multiple personality types.
- Extreme attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Willingness to provide thorough details and clearly describe our products to our customers, including ingredients and how items are made.
- Work alongside your team to keep the bakery clean, and contribute to a great customer experience.
- Exceptional hygiene and cleanliness. Clean shaven, well groomed, hair clean pulled back, clean hands and finger nails.
- Food Safety Certification Level 1 (or willingness to obtain before hire)
**Credentials**:
- You have an impeccable level of cleanliness, attention to detail and organization
- You are highly self-motivated and work well under mínimal supervision
- You possess strong customer service skills
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- You work well with others in a high-pressure environment
- You have 1+ years of experience working in a Bakery Department or related field preferred
- You can work on your feet up to 8 hours in a day

**Physical Requirements**:
- Continuous standing/walking for all tasks
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22 kg
- Frequent turning and reaching
- Handling HOT items and being around hot pieces of equipment
- Occasional pushing, pulling and some forward bending
- Ability to lift at least 2.5 kg to a height of 1.7 metres
- Constant use of both hands, with frequent wrist rotation and flexing, occasional forceful gripping
