We are seeking a full-time internal bookkeeper to join our team to oversee full-cycle accounting for our clinical research network. This role includes managing day-to-day financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and payroll for our organization and affiliated companies.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Full cycle accounting, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Generate financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Process payroll, including remittances
- Compiling and filing GST returns
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure financial accuracy.
- Collaborate with external accounting firm compiling year-end documentation for corporate tax return preparation
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement in financial reporting.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audits and reviews.
- Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
**Qualifications**
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role, demonstrating strong accounting skills.
- Proficiency in Sage and other accounting software
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and account reconciliation.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and tax regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
**Requirements**:
- Minimum: Bookkeeping Certificate or Similar (i.e. Payroll and Accounting Diploma)
- Must be knowledable with Sage accounting software
- 2+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
