**Your area of focus.**
The Service Dispatcher is responsible for efficiently organizing and overseeing the flow of service work in the department, ensuring timely and quality repairs at fair costs. This role involves scheduling jobs, prioritizing tasks, managing repair orders, maintaining customer communication, and coordinating with technicians, parts, and service managers. The dispatcher also ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards, maintains high customer satisfaction, and manages the logistics of equipment, supplies, and vehicle maintenance. Additionally, they play a key role in ensuring proper documentation and monitoring of repair progress.
**What drives your day-to-day?**
- Manages an efficient dispatch system to optimize workflow and productivity, scheduling work based on dealership policies and technician skill levels.
- Prioritizes and tracks repair orders, ensuring accurate documentation (complaints, causes, corrections) and timely updates to service advisors and customers regarding time or cost changes.
- Maintains clear communication with customers, providing regular updates and ensuring high satisfaction throughout the repair process.
- Reviews and oversees repair order completion, verifying that technicians follow procedures and perform work as assigned, while preparing estimates when necessary.
- Coordinates with parts and service departments to manage parts orders, schedule appointments, and address any material shortages in a timely manner.
- Ensures proper handling of warranty procedures and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including safety, hazardous waste disposal, and OSHA standards.
- Schedules maintenance for service department vehicles and equipment and works with the service manager to maintain an up-to-date inventory of tools and supplies.
- Maintains a clean, organized work area and upholds a professional appearance while assisting with safety and housekeeping protocols.
**What are the must-haves**
- Service Advisor and/or auto industry experience preferred
- Knowledge of CDK or similar systems is an asset
- A valid Canadian driver’s license and safe driving history is required
