Apprentice Tower Rigger

The Tower Rigger is responsible for building and maintaining communication towers, the safe installation of steel structures and wireless communication components, performing general ground procedures associated with installation, working with various antenna and transmission lines, identifying and selecting appropriate equipment for specific installations, and climbing and working on poles, towers, and ladders or other support structures up to 500 feet.
Must be willing to travel.

- Safe installation of steel structures and wireless communication components
- Performing general procedures associated with installation
- Working with various antenna and transmission lines
- Climbing and working on poles, towers, and ladders or other support structures up to 500 feet
**Requirements**:
- Construction experience (considered an asset)
- Able and willing to work out of town
- Able and willing to work at heights
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean Driver’s Abstract
- Clean Criminal Background
- Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol Test
**Physical Demands**:
- Able to lift and carry up to 100lbs without assistance through a work shift
- Able to safely push or pull up to 150lbs without assistance using proper equipment
- Ability to safely climb to heights up to 500 feet
- Ability to work at heights for extended periods of time in all types of weather
- Ability to safely and properly operate motor vehicles up to ¾ ton pickup
- Able to work regular shifts of up to 12 hours (or more in special circumstances)
- Due to the safety and the nature of the responsibilities included in this position, strong English communication skills are required
- Comtech (Communication Technologies) Ltd. is currently unable to facilitate or sponsor immigration into Canada.
**Salary**: $20.00-$32.00 per hour
