**Volunteer Coordinator**

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, training, organizing, recognition, and retention of Dress for Success Central Alberta volunteers.

This position will support our organization’s modernization and adaptability post pandemic through volunteer programming, implementation of an effective, modernized Volunteer Management System, adapting volunteer recruitment and engagement strategies and facilitating professional development and training opportunities to properly equip our volunteers in serving our clients.

**Key Responsibility Areas**:
**1. Volunteer recruitment and training**
- Recruits, screens, interviews and selects volunteers for service at Dress for Success
- Provides training and orientation to new volunteers
- Provides ongoing training and support for existing volunteers to ensure they have the resources required to serve our clients safely and knowledgeably
- Works with community partners, supporters and referral agencies
- Ensures the Volunteers are compliant with all DFS policies and procedures
- Develop, analyze and evaluate all volunteer recruitment, engagement and retention practices to ensure they are efficient, effective and maximize technology use to create a scalable system that meets the changing and growing needs of Dress for Success.

**2. Volunteer leadership and organization**
- In conjunction with the Executive Director provides leadership and vision for the provision of volunteer services at Dress for Success
- Maintains regular contact and supervises the activities of the volunteers including providing guidance and direction, performance feedback and, when required, ending a volunteer’s service to DFS.
- Recruits volunteers for special events or fundraisers as required.
- Acts as a liaison between staff, volunteers, and community partners/supporters
- Works with community partnerships to enhance Dress for Success Volunteer program
- Support the mental health and wellness of staff, volunteers and clients through increased training opportunities (example: Mental Health First Aid)

**3. Volunteer recognition and retention**
- Maintains ongoing volunteer relations
- Organizes meaningful volunteer recognition
- Activates effective means of volunteer motivation and retention
- Develop approaches for volunteer input/feedback

**4. Administrative responsibilities and duties**
- Ensures accurate records are entered and maintained into the volunteer management system
- Develops and maintains volunteer guidelines
- Reports on volunteer activities
- Organizes and participates in various meetings involving volunteers
- Attends staff meetings as scheduled

Please note this a one year contract for 30 hours per week.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
