**About the Opportunity**:
Nova Scotia Health is seeking expressions of interest for the role of Medical Site Lead for the QEII Health Sciences Center. Reporting directly to Central Zone Medical Executive Director (ZMED), the Medical Site Lead is accountable to the ZMED and Central Zone Vice President of Operations (VPO). The Medical Site Lead works with the local physicians to ensure a high standard of patient care is maintained by the medical staff, in accordance with the law, the Bylaws, the Rules and Regulations, licensing and accreditation standards. The Medical Site Lead brings a clinician perspective to all relevant operational and administrative issues with particular focus on quality and patient safety.

**Role Accountabilities**:

- Ensures that medical staff within the site are compliant with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and Policies of the NSHA
- Champions and facilitates positive work culture for QEII physicians and staff
- Brings forward issues and perspectives of Medical Staff at the applicable site to the ZMED for consideration and/or resolution
- Serves as Physician Lead for Emergency Preparedness activities at the site
- Assists in managing site overcapacity issues by being the point of contact for medical staff and administrative co-leads
- Attends committee meetings as assigned by the ZMED (may include, but not limited to, QEII Redevelopment committee meetings, site and zone Quality & Patient Safety meetings, zone Division and Department meetings)
- Participates in the monitoring of standards, quality, and utilization of resources of the site in the zone
- Participates in any clinical services planning for the site and zone
- Participates in recruitment and retention activities for the site and zone
- Participates in ongoing leadership development and demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning and acquisition and refinement of leadership capabilities
- Attends meetings of the Access and Flow Network Council and contributes to the Network by sharing local context and by participating in the development of strategies, policies and procedures that promote increased access and flow of patients
- Acts as the champion at the site for promoting and implementing best practices related to access and flow as determined by the Access and Flow Network; this includes working across all departments and divisions at the site and leading the implementation of policies and standards as well as evaluating their impact
- Through co-leadership with site administrative Directors (HI and VG Director co-leads) and QEII Executive Director, develops and implements a plan to improve access and flow for the site; participates in access and flow planning for the broader zone
- Establishes and maintains collaborative relationship with the Care Coordination Center (C3)
- Co-Chairs the QEII Clinical Affairs Committee (CAC) with QEII HI + VG Director Site Leads
- Co-Chairs site-based Incident Management Team (IMT) meetings as required
- with QEII HI + VG Site Leads for operational issues
- with CZ Director of Patient Flow for flow issues
- Regular engagement with QEII physician leaders and co-leads
- Regular engagement with Central Zone physician medical site leads
- Required attendance at, and participation in, Central Zone Medical Advisory Committee (ZMAC) meetings
- Relationship with QEII Foundation, in collaboration with administrative co-leads, to identify and facilitate opportunities for innovation and growth

**Eligibility**:

- MD licensed in Nova Scotia and privileged with Nova Scotia Health
- Evidence of past and ongoing leadership experience and training with focus on LEADS framework is preferred
