**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Public Health Manager, the Secretary I provides administrative support to the Public Health Manager and Public Health staff. The secretary is responsible, as part of a team, for the effective and efficient operation of the office on a day-to-day basis. Duties include but are not limited to communicating effectively with Public Health staff, the general public, and outside agencies; typing; filing; reception duties; records management; supply requisitions in SAP; time entry in HRIS; and data entry in the Public Health databases.
**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Successful completion of post-secondary education in a recognized Office Administration/Medical Secretarial Program
- Successful completion of Medical terminology course
- One year experience in a responsible secretarial position, preferably in a health care setting.
- Knowledge of computers is essential, including accurate keyboarding skills with minimum typing speed of 40 wpm, Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality of personnel, hospital and patient information
- Training and experience in SAP and HRIS or willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently, with little supervision, to prioritize activities and to work cooperatively as part of a team. Ability to use sound judgement.
- Experience with brochure development, planning and coordinating educational sessions and other special events.
- Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation as travel may be required
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

**Hours**:
- Permanent, Full-time (100%) position; 70 hours bi-weekly
**Compensation and Incentives**:
$22.89 - $24.89 Hourly
