Instrumentation and Controls Technician
**Responsibilities Include**:
- Coordinate the start-up, commissioning and close-out of installed systems.
- Coordinate the completion of design documentation, including parts and assembly drawings, bills of materials, specification sheets, schematics, point-to-point diagrams and project files.
- Installation and termination of various devices including PLCs, HMIs and Electronic Preset Controllers.
- Properly addressing TCP/IP networks and Serial communications (RS-232/RS-485).
- Analyzing and correcting communication issues.
- Document existing control panels and coordinate transition to new control panels.
- Assisting in the setup and installation of associated hardware & software products.
**Additional Responsibilities Include**:
- Assisting with project implementation on site and provide end user training
- Providing on call services (when required)
- Developing and maintaining customer relationships
- Developing and maintaining user guides and related technical documentation for TMS hardware products
- Recording and documenting all support issues in TMS ticket system and Knowledge Base
- Keeping up to date, knowledgeable of and adhering to all company policies including but not limited to the following:
- TMS Drug and Alcohol Policy
- TMS Safety Policies (including WHMIS)
- TMS On-Call Policies
- Any other duties assigned as required
**Skills and Aptitudes**:
- Strong electrical and controls troubleshooting skills.
- Industrial Controls is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Great problem solving and a communication skill.
- Ability to deal with co-workers and customers in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability and willingness to travel (with a valid passport).
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and good driving record are required.
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills are necessary.
