**Job Description**:

Reporting to the Dean of the School of Business, the Academic Chair is responsible for providing academic leadership in the management and administration of faculty, support staff and students in the Operations Management Department, which includes programming related to the following clusters: Supply Chain Management, International Business and Project Management. The Academic Chair is responsible for establishing a strategic direction for the Department that is aligned with the College's strategic plan and faculty goals.

The Academic Chair is accountable for the planning, development, delivery, quality assurance and financial viability of the post-secondary education programs of the Department. The Academic Chair provides broad academic leadership in curriculum development, design and evaluation, applied scholarship, and experiential learning to meet the needs of a diverse population.

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the offerings are responsive and relevant to the needs of the students and the community at large, developing and implementing new initiatives to reflect changing technology, economic and market influences and employment opportunities in accordance with current business/industry standards as well as College and ministry guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

- Minimum Masters Degree in Business, or related field;
- Minimum of nine (9) years related experience in increasingly responsible roles, including a minimum of 2 years spent in a supervisory/management role;
- Demonstrated background in education/training through either prior teaching, curriculum development and/or educational consultancy;
- Demonstrated experience managing personnel in a unionized environment;
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to teaching excellence and quality education preferably within an applied post-secondary environment
- Demonstrable understanding of student engagement for the purpose of achieving student success
- Demonstrated understanding of the value and practice of applied research
- Demonstrated management style which nurtures individual initiative and creativity, within the context of organizational goals;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills that make you a leader who can articulate an academic vision and execute on plans;
- Excellent group facilitation and conflict resolution skills;
- Demonstrated superior organizational, planning and financial management skills;
- Demonstrated ability to engage the external stakeholders and develop partnership linkages.
