**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Reporting directly to the Director, Risk, the **Manager, Risk Assessment** is responsible for ensuring that regulated entities operate according to Standards of Sound Business Practice through monitoring and examination functions.

**REQUIREMENTS AND EDUCATION**
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
- Strong knowledge of sound corporate governance, risk management practices, financial principles, IT governance & security, enterprise risk management, internal audit, and compliance
- Self-motivated with excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Post-secondary degree in a related area(s)
- 5 years minimum related experience
- The following attributes would be considered assets:

- Familiarity with financial institution and/or credit union regulation practices
- Understanding of commercial lending practices
- Fluency in French (not required)

**ABOUT DEPOSIT GUARANTEE CORPORATION OF MANITOBA**

The Deposit Guarantee Corporation of Manitoba (DGCM) is the guarantor of deposits and the primary regulator for Manitoba credit unions and the caisse (cu/caisse), as well as Credit Union Central of Manitoba (CUCM). DGCM’s mandate is to:

- Guarantee deposits in cu/caisse.
- Promote cu/caisse development of sound business practices to protect them from financial losses.
- Ensure that cu/caisse operate according to standards of sound business practice and ensure that CUCM operates according to prudential standards.
- Promote and otherwise contribute to the stability of and public confidence in the cu/caisse systems and CUCM.
