Ophthalmic Technician/medical Office Assistant

Our busy ophthalmology office, located in the University of Alberta area, is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician/Medical Office Assistant for either part-time or full-time work.
Responsibilities include:
- Screening of general and subspecialty ophthalmology patients; counselling of patients on various oculoplastic and cataract surgical options; performing visual field testing, OCT, tonometry, corneal topography, and other ophthalmic testing as necessary.
- Sanitizing of patient areas, stocking of exam rooms, sterilization and maintenance of specialized ophthalmic clinic equipment and working with other office staff to assist in clinic function.
- 2 -3 days/week will also be assisting in general clerical/reception duties: includes answering telephones, booking patient referrals, triaging referrals, and confirming appointments, preparing clinic and surgical charts, assisting surgeons during clinic with various tasks such as scheduling follow up appointments, review of forms and surgical information with patients and other reception duties as required.
