**Job Synopsis**
Sam’s Place is seeking a mature, responsible, dynamic individual to supervise the coffeeshop and the participants in our Youth Program. This is a casual position, with up to three shifts a week. Must have availability during weekday afternoons.
Sam’s Place is a Social Enterprise that is owned by Mennonite Central Committee Manitoba. It runs a Youth and Young Adult Work Experience Program that provides opportunity for youth and young adults, often facing barriers, to develop employable skills and gain experience for their future in the work force.

Hourly Employee Part Time
**Qualifications**
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Customer service experience in either the food service or retail industries.
- Experience working in a team dynamic with a variety of different abilities.
- Strong problem solving and money handling skills.
- Attention to detail, willingness to go the extra mile, and superior organizational skills.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience an asset.
- Experience working on a volunteer team an asset.
- Able to work afternoons.
**Key Responsibilties**
- Provide quality customer service to Sam’s Place customers.
- Train and mentor Program Participants, who will be working the floor alongside mentors and staff.
- Provide supervision and leadership to Sam’s Place team.
- Process orders and payments for in person and over the phone orders.
- Run the espresso bar and make espresso-based drinks for customer orders.
- Field and respond to participant questions and customer requests about product and service offerings.
- Open and close the Point-of-Sale system, providing a closing report each day.
- Open and close café, dependent on the day.
- Provide support to evening events and event coordinators as necessary.
- Diligently fulfill cleaning responsibilities.
- Connect with the Sam’s Place Program Coordinator as necessary.
- Other daily operational tasks as assigned.
- Physical Demand: Able to stay on feet all day. Able to work with hot water (preparing drinks, washing dishes).
