Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Materials Manager to join our team. The Materials Manager will be responsible for overseeing the procurement, sourcing, and management of materials and ensuring the availability of all necessary materials required to support the manufacturing process. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth flow of materials throughout the supply chain.

Duties

Delivery Performance
- Schedule and meet all customer (external, internal, OEC, Service, All Tiers) delivery requirements for Plant, preparing forecasts based on customer release history, work in process and finished goods
- Responsible for all materials availability to support the manufacturing process
- Responsible for the release scheduling of inbound raw materials and components, ensuring adequate stock levels for production requirements, utilizing the existing MRP system and QAD
- Coordinate the orders and delivery of aftermarket parts
- Maintain customer delivery performance scorecards

Leadership
- Coach and mentor staff to excel
- Develop processes and procedures that allow for efficient operation

Inventory Management
- Responsible for the development and implementation of a Kanban system for all purchased and manufactured parts, to ensure FIFO and reorder points
- Lead the Physical Inventory
- Co-ordinate cycle counts of raw materials, and components and maintain accurate inventory records. Drive the daily diagnostics of  inventory, and root causes of errors
- Effectively manage inventory levels to ensure monthly targets are achieved.
- Responsible for the co-ordination of all outside services, monitoring flow of parts to and from outside service providers and suppliers

Supplier Management
- Coordinate changeover/machine schedules with manufacturing
- Maintain and analyze outside service providers’ performance based on pre-determined goals and delivery performance
- Develop a close working relationship with outside service providers and suppliers
- Implement an effective strategy for the most cost effective flow of material to and from outside service providers

Communication
- Build an effective team with both the St. Catherines and Tillsonburg Materials’ groups
- Liaise effectively with all other key stakeholders including Purchasing, Finance, Operations, Quality, Engineering and HR

Other Initiatives
- Ensure launch and phase out activities are concluded in agreement with customer demand
- Execute Materials initiatives relative to all quality rating and commitments
- Maintain all Material expenditures within the Materials’ budget
