The Maintenance Purchase/ Planner’s key objectives are to improve the maintenance activities and productivity by coordinating the actions of the maintenance department.

**Shift Timings: Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm**

**A TYPICAL DAY WILL INCLUDE**:
**Maintenance**
- Planning, scheduling, and coordinating all the maintenance activities associated with all plant, equipment, and property
- Provide administrative support to the Maintenance Department
- Primary contact with vendors and suppliers
- Keep PM program accurate and current, including printing and distributing PM’s, monitor and follow up of PM’s, adding new equipment, keep calibration requirements up to date, closing PM’s
- Ensure all activities in PM program are completed in time frame allowed by their priority code
- Maximize usage of CMMS system
- Maintain a list to monitor emergency repairs to assist with the annual review and implementation of new PM’s
- Maintain and organize PM documents for ease of use and accessibility
- Identify best practices; collaborate with Maintenance Lead for implementation
- Develop photo and video material to add as attachments to procedures
- Convert written material (manuals, schematics etc.) into PDF format within the CMMS
- Develop maintenance procedures based on information in machine manuals and input from technicians
- Follow up with technicians on work performed to ensure completion of work and replacement parts ordered
- Attend toolbox chats, provide updates or adjustments as needed.
- Reduce Maintenance Costs
- Work with the Maintenance Manager to ensure equipment up time is 98%
- Prioritize jobs by importance daily by scheduling tickets by level of priority based on your experience and input by Maintenance Manager.
- Adjust schedules as needed to eliminate machine down time situations. Plan and coordinate actions of technicians.
- Have overhaul/shutdown schedules completed by 60 days prior to the shutdown.
- Work with Maintenance Manager and Operations to reduce downtime.
- Audit the completed work orders to ensure accuracy
- Coordinate with parts purchasing to have 100% materials on hand before repairs/installations are due.
- Other duties, as assigned

**Purchase**
- Manage vendor relationships. Negotiate pricing, terms/conditions, and delivery; communicate and coordinates corrective actions for material/components for quality issues.
- Recruit and maintain high quality product/service suppliers that offer better pricing.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices.
- Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
- Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.
- Work closely with scheduling, production, sales order ensuring an efficient flow of materials/components.

**KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS FOR SUCCESS**
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma Methodology
- Excellent communication both written and verbal
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and keep an organized process by following up with technicians.
- Able to take direction and follow through completion
- Strong comprehensive skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge to be able to identify parts and procedures.
- Relentless drive to improve process
- Exceptional computer skills including MS Office
