**About the Position**:
The** Edmonton Convention Center** team is looking for an enthusiastic, positive, and self-driven **Sales Manager** to join our team. You will be working with an amazing group of like-minded professionals all striving towards the same goal to provide remarkable client experiences.

The Sales Manager will be an experienced salesperson - they will not only drive business but ensure the Edmonton Convention Centre seeks and secures the right business, sectors and clients that align with their principles. This role is accountable for securing business event opportunities for the venue and its flexibility to drive business now and into the future. This role will also work closely with Explore Edmonton’s business units.
- Collaborating with Explore Edmonton partners.
- Actively seek external opportunities within the province to develop partnerships and an understanding of industry needs.
- Serving as an ECC representative to existing and prospective clients who require meeting, conference & event space.
- Responding to sales inquiries, prospects, qualifies leads and solicits potential clients. Conducts site visits, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts and services accounts.
- Developing and skillfully manage sales funnel
- Conducting follow-ups and assumes key contact role for past convention clients
- In market sales/promotional activity, may include some tradeshow participation
- Assisting the Senior Sales Manager & Director, Sales & Events in developing sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue goals.
- Providing statistical information and sales data on areas of market responsibility and assists with trend analysis
- Professionally represents the department and facility by participating in local partner industry networking opportunities
- Maintaining accurate and up to date sales records (hard copy & computer databases)
- Recording all space and account activities in property managed system.
- Preparing all associated sales contracts
- Producing monthly sales reports to include record of bookings and status, plus tracks all clients activities for reports
- Always maintaining professional appearance and attitude.
- Maintaining good working relationships with stakeholders and existing clients
- Encourages business relationships with local hotels to attract leads and jointly solicits mid-size conventions.
- Adheres to AGLC, OH&S, and Fire Marshall Codes
- Understand and follow ECC’s Health and Safety Standards.
- Supporting and promoting a safe and healthy work environment to clients, guests, contractors, and employees.
- Ensuring events comply with ECC’s Health and Safety Standards.
- Promoting the services of the Edmonton Convention Centre to contribute to Edmonton’s image and reputation goals
- Ensuring the ECC’s service, safety, sustainability, productivity and community support brand standards are maintained to the highest quality
- Modeling and promoting Explore Edmonton Corporation values and the Edmonton Convention Centre service values
- Ongoing dedication and response of current developments & trends in all relevant industry / technical / professional knowledge areas, i.e. trade & consumer conferences, meetings, banquets, catered events - particularly new prospective clients in Alberta, event plann
