Meat Grinder

Meat Grinder ensures that all products requiring grinding are completed per customer orders and specifications.
**Breakdown of Responsibilities**
- Tends machine that grinds meat for use in making such products as sausages, ground beef, ground pork, ground chicken, and other products as required.
- Selects and inserts grinding plate in the machine for specified particle size.
- Shovels meat into machine hopper, using a fork, and positions truck under discharge spout.
- Starts machine
- May cut chunks of meat into smaller pieces using power operated cleaver or slicer
- May select and weigh meat in the cooler room for the grinder.
**Requirements**:
- Prior meat grinding experience making burgers is preferred but not necessary along with general labor work experience.
- A can-do attitude and ability to follow directions.
- Experience working in food production environment (meat processing/packaging) and cold environment is preferred
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing practices in a production (food) environment preferred
- Ability to learn and follow procedures including following food safety and handling guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills
- Above average organizational skills
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull and or move up to 70lbs.
- Ability to stand and bend along with lift and carry items over an 8-plus hour day.
- Ability to work in a cool/freezer (-10/+4 degrees C) environment
- Ability to keep the hand and arm steady while moving the arm and hand in one position.
- Ability to see details at a close range

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Ability to Work well under pressure
- Ability to Work in a fast-paced environment,
