Exercise Specialist

**Job Title: Exercise Specialist Lead**

**Department: Health & Fitness**

**Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk), salaried**

Reporting to the Director of Fitness Centre, this position is responsible for the supervision and execution of the complimentary Personal Training program, as well as the virtual fitness programs and services at both facilities of the Moncton YMCA, primarily the Vaughn Harvey location.

**Duties**
- Provide on floor supervision of the Fitness Centre, acting as a host to provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
- Provide orientations, consultations, personal training and YThrives as scheduled (certification required).
- Execute personal training sessions.
- Assist with meeting target budgets, sales goals, and revenue generation for personal training among others.
- Ensure that all fitness program areas and the general facility at large are kept to the highest standard of cleanliness.
- Complete and forward work orders in a timely manner when equipment is not in working order.
- Assist the Director with stat keeping, problem solving, and other tasks.
- Lead fitness classes as scheduled / needed on a regular and fill-in basis.
- Facilitate recreational sports as necessary per the posted schedule.
- Assist with social media, marketing and promotion.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- A criminal record check and vulnerable sector check are required as a condition of employment.
- Standard First Aid and Basic Rescuer CPR
- Personal Trainer certification from Can-Fit-Pro (or equivalent).
- Health/Fitness related degree or diploma is an asset.
- Group Fitness Instructor certification from Can-Fit-Pro (or equivalent) an asset.
- Able to work flexible hours.
- Bilingualism an asset.
