**Human Resources Assistant**

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for maintaining and processing information relating to manpower, recruitment, training, and employee records such as sick leave, vacation, and other leaves, as well as compiling statistics and employee related information upon management request.

**Performance Expectations**
- Process and verify documentation relating to attendance, recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
- Assist with facility-specific recruitment, including, interviews, reference checks and extending job offers through the Human Resources Information System.
- Prepare and present employee orientation for new hires, transfers and contract workers.
- Assist with internal and external training activities as well as evaluate/manage training needs.
- Distribute and track probationary and annual hourly reviews.
- Advise managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, compensation and benefit programs.
- Assist with management of employee benefits such as Green Shield and Manulife benefits.
- Maintain and update employee information in Human Resources Information System (Oracle).
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll, by preparing the necessary data entry and payroll backup.
- Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

**Credentials**
- Post-Secondary education in a field related to human resources management such as business administration, industrial relations, business, or psychology.
- One to three years of administrative experience, preferably in Human Resources.
- Ability to read legislative documents relating to human rights and employment standards to comply with legal requirements and communicate related information to employees as required.
- Experience with human resources information systems (such as Oracle) considered an asset.

**Hours of Work**

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
