Tradition Construction Inc. was founded in 1986 under the name Tradition Painting and Renovating and has been serving southwestern Ontario with construction services ever since. Lately, Tradition Construction Inc. has been focusing on rapdily growing our business within the public sector, predominately institutional renovations. We have completed multiple projects in the last 5-10 years within the public sector for repeat institutional clients including the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario, London Health Sciences Centre, The City of London, The Town of St. Mary’s and The City of St. Thomas. We are also prequalified general contractor for The City of Woodstock, Western University, Fanshawe College, TVDSB and LDCSB and provide ongoing service to multiple other entities in the London and surrounding area. These projects range from $100K to $10M
- **Job Summary**:_

We’re hiring a self-motivated Project Manager with experience in ICI Construction Project Management, Coordination and Estimating. We are looking for a dedicated individual with a passion for construction to take responsibility for their projects. Someone who will fit with our collaborative culture, and work in tandem with our talent roster of administrators, estimators, and site crew.
- **Duties**:_
- Work with stakeholders from the preconstruction to closeout phase of the project
- Prepare detailed estimates and take-offs, solicit subtrade quotes with the estimating team
- Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Occasionally participate in the tender close process as required
- Prepare contract and startup documentation
- Oversee the beginning of each project, including details like securing permits and design evaluations, scheduling, quality, and cost control
- Issue purchase orders to subtrades and suppliers
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure interdisciplinary conformance
- Review technical shop drawings against contract specifications
- Prepare costing for change notices, and claims
- Track CO’s, RFI’s, SI’s, shop drawings and submittals
- Mark up drawings to communicate changes, provide information, and record drawings
- Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality is being delivered, site conditions are safe and project schedules are being maintained
- Lead construction meetings and record meeting minutes for regularly scheduled team meetings
- Prepare closeout documentation, maintenance manuals, commissioning reports, and warranties
- Organize inspections/reviews for project turn over by authorities having jurisdiction
- **Qualifications**:_
- 3+ years of experience in project management for ICI projects over $500K
- 5+ cumulative experience in construction
- Diploma in architectural technology, construction management, civil engineering is required
- A bachleor’s degree in engineering from an institution that teaches the Ontario building code would also be acceptable
- PMP, PQS, CEC, CET, or GSC designations would be considered an asset
- Estimating experience would be considered an asset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Project
- AutoCAD knowledge considered an asset
- Ability to read blueprints, including architectural, civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, technology, processes, and equipment
- Extensive experiencing managing budgets for construction projects
- Understanding of construction terms, scheduling, planning and cost control / budgets
- Advanced time management and analytical skills
- Excellent client-facing communication skills
- Excellent organizational, planning skills
- Ability to work well with others and lead a project team
- Attention to detail and creative problem-solving ability
