**What you will do**

Specifically, you will:

- Contribute to the development and deployment of data science capabilities at an enterprise level.
- Leverage theoretical and practical knowledge of advanced analytic methods
- Prepare detailed documentation to outline data sources, models and algorithms used and developed
- Play a supportive role in data science projects and pipelines at the Data Science Hub
- Develop, manage, and optimize models as they relate to data science needs from our internal clients
- Perform other operational and processing tasks for the team as required

**What you need to succeed**
You are enthusiastically driven to generate actionable insights and create new growth opportunities for connecting data science to central banking. You have curiosity and the applied and technical skills to follow your curiosity. You also have proven experience and expertise in most of the following:

- analytical, research and problem-solving skills, including a high level of initiative
- collecting, organizing, and manipulating data with accuracy and attention to detail
- interpersonal skills and ability to clearly communicate information and ideas adapted to the target audience, using clear and compelling written and oral communications
- organizing work effectively, setting priorities to ensure follow-through and project completion in a timely manner
- experience collecting, organizing, and manipulating data sets, including data wrangling, dimensionality reduction and feature extraction
- significant data science programming experience (e.g. R and/ or Python) and related libraries for data science

**Nice-to-have**
- knowledge of macroeconomics or econometrics
- knowledge of machine learning/deep learning models for time series forecasting
- knowledge of data science methods and models over cloud computing platforms (e.g. Azure ML, Databricks etc.)
- knowledge of software development in relation to machine learning (ML Ops) or knowledge of DevOps
- knowledge of a variety of technology tools (e.g. GitHub, Jira)
- knowledge of data storytelling knowledge via visualization tools, dashboards, presentations, and reports
- experience in the public sector

**Your education and experience**
Undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant discipline, such as statistics, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, economics, or finance.

**Hybrid Work Model **#LI-Hybrid**

The Bank is conducting a trial of a hybrid working model which provides employees with the flexibility to telework for significant portions of each month. During the trial, employees will be expected to come onsite on those days when they are involved in activities that they or their leader feel are better conducted in person and to build connections with colleagues. For the majority of employees, it is expected that onsite time will range from 5 to 10 days per month, depending on your role. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

- Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $64,705 to $76,125 (job grade 14)
