Purpose:

- Coordinate construction activities throughout the site and ensure effective communication between various construction teams as well as site operations to minimize disruptions, solve problems, and improve construction efficiency.
- Support construction crews to ensure appropriate safe work permits, Lockout Tagout (LOTO), and other processes are completed effectively and timely.
- Visible Safety Champion - Maintains a “lead by example” attitude which is focused on a ZERO-INCIDENT mindset.
- Coordinate and supervise third party whom support general site and facilities related activities,
- Be a flexible resource to the site and provide support where required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assures work is completed per contractual requirements as well as within conformance to Client and regulatory requirements.
- Provide communication between contractors and site personnel. Take pictures, provide regular construction updates.
- Evaluate alternatives and make recommendations to project managers on change orders submitted by contractors. (Project Manager would be responsible for providing official approval / rejections)
- Supports project commissioning activities and completion of project deficiencies.
- Review and approve time sheets (LEMS).
- Facilitate daily (or weekly as applicable) construction coordination meetings with site representatives.

Knowledge and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, including project management or construction management training with 5+ years’ experience OR Technology Diploma / trade certification with 10+ years’ experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience related to construction and/or pre-commissioning of a facility and equipment operations or other relevant experience such as construction, field engineering, or operations in industrial, process or utility engineering or construction.
- Knowledgeable of all trade and craft skills (concrete, structural, piping, rotating equipment, instrumentation, scaffolding, insulation, protective coatings, etc.).
- Ability to understand field changes and red-line drawings.
- Willing to work off-shift schedule, extended hours, and weekends.
- Working knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety, and its legislation.
- Proficient use of Microsoft suite of software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to develop and follow project schedules using project management software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
- Familiar project safety review processes "MOC".
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
- Ability to work effectively with vendors and contractors while developing strong relationships.
- Communication with operations, EHS, and contractors on day-to-day activities.
- Ability to multitask and balance the progress, action, and completion of tasks/projects.
- Creation of construction plans when critical task or jobs are taking place.
- Ability to identify and mitigate/resolve hazards associated with job tasks.
- Ability to handle stress with poise and alternative options or solutions quickly to alleviate stressful situations.

**Salary**: $35.00-$60.00 per hour
