Under the umbrella of shared People Services between Providence Care and Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC), this position reports to the Manager, Leadership & Talent Development. The Leadership and Talent Development Consultant will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of activities and deliverables of the team within the Leadership & Talent Development portfolio with a focus primarily at Providence Care.
The consultant will lead and support a community of practice to improve organizational performance and build capacity for leaders and staff by designing, developing, and evaluating programs and tools in the areas of Leadership & Talent Development. These areas include leadership development programs, change leadership, coaching, performance development, learning design and development, talent development and succession planning, organizational development, recognition, and employee engagement activities supported by the department. The consultant will provide Leadership & Talent Development expertise, consultation, and support to positional leaders and teams.
The consultant is accountable for contributing to the delivery of organizational strategy and mission by ensuring that assigned activities meet organization goals and priorities and actively promotes and supports patient and family centered care.
**Skills and Qualifications Required**:
- Master’s Degree in a related portfolio discipline or a Bachelors’ Degree with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Minimum 5 years related experience in implementing and designing learning and development programs in a complex professional environment.
- Certification in Project Management or Change Management an asset.
- Certification in Instructional Design or Adult Learning an asset.
- Healthcare or public sector experience an asset.
- Supervisory experience an asset.
**Position Responsibilities**:
- Oversight of team deliverables and lead for day-to-day Providence Care onsite issues and team challenges
- Supports the Manager implementing strategic initiatives across the team to enhance the leadership and talent development functions.
- Pro-actively contributes to the evolution of our leadership development programs including annual alignment to corporate directives and support and guidance of aspiring and emerging leaders.
- Conducts performance gap analysis on individual Leadership & Talent Development constituents as identified.
- Consults with key stakeholders (i.e., Managers, and/or Labour Relations/HR Advisors regarding performance development, targeted leadership and talent development issues.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with hiring managers and provides strategic and expert advice in Leadership and Talent Development domains.
- Works in compliance with the Health & Safety Act and its regulations in performing duties in a safe manner and follows all health and safety policies, procedures and legislation including, wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required
