**IT Administrator (Information Technology)**

**This role will be based in Crossfield until December 2024/Olds/Airdrie post December 2024**

Work location - Crossfield, AB/Airdrie/Olds December 2024

Title of this position reports to: CFO (Chief Financial Officer) & HR Manager

Monday To Friday, in-person, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch

Overtime/On-call may be necessary on as needed basis

**Purpose of Role**: installing and configuring computer systems for Alberta AG Centre. The purpose of this role is to ensure that all employees have working computer equipment, and the network is up and running and that all employees have access to the internet and the computer network.

**Job duties of the role**:

- First point of contact for incoming support requests to the IT service desk.
- User Setup and Maintenance in Active Directory and apps.
- Follow best practices for IT service desk from ticket creation to close including the addition of technical notes and developing SOPs FAQs when required.
- Provide feedback on processes and make recommendations on areas to improve.
- Technical assistance for hardware, software, networks, and Operating System issues as necessary.
- Installations or replacements of PCs, telephone handsets or other peripheral components such as printers, keyboards, monitors, tablets, and smartphones.
- Support onboarding and offboarding process for new hires or exiting staff.
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level when remote tools are not appropriate, including hardware repairs, delivery of peripherals, or other fixes as determined.
- Regular follow-ups with users (company staff).
- Handling Confidential and sensitive information
- Establish and maintain an asset inventory system for hardware and software assets.
- Database management and backup.
- SharePoint management and integration.
- Support the development of a continuity plan with senior management.
- Travel to any of the Alberta AG Centre locations to offer support (If a company vehicle is available it will be provided for such trips, otherwise Mileage can be expensed)
- Other duties as assigned.

**What you bring**:

- Bachelor’s degree, college degree in Computer Science, information systems or computer engineering OR 5 years of related experience is required.
- Knowledge of computer hardware or peripheral device setup and configuration.
- Experience with desktop and server operating systems.
- Experience in diagnosing technical issues.
- Experience with Office 360 and SharePoint.
- Detailed and excellent verbal communication.
- Excellent communication skills, highly organized, with a strong attention to detail and able to work independently.
- Valid Driver’s license
- Ability to travel, including occasional overnight stays
