**Position Summary**:
The Lead Instructor, Advanced Care Paramedic Program, is responsible for the delivery of ACP Program content in a
blended delivery model, including synchronous online and face-to-face learning. This role supports program quality
assurance by aligning program content with best practice and industry needs. This position also requires leading
sessional instructional faculty to ensure consistent education at all JIBC campuses. ACP Program Lead Instructors will be
supported to contribute to and engage in scholarly and research activities related to paramedicine as assigned.

**Primary Responsibilities**:
**Teaching and Classroom Support**:

- Teach and be a consistent presence for students and sessional faculty in the classroom in all courses within the

ACP Program.
- Supervise and coach sessional faculty who co-teach in the program.
- Lead online synchronous components of the program. Average teaching load per week when classes are in

session is 21 - 24 hours per week as assigned.
- Meet and work with students regarding their academic progression and completing Education Plans as required.
- Audit competency attainment of students throughout program.
- Collaborate with ACP Academic Writing Team and Practice Education Leads (PELS), ensuring consistent and

quality delivery of the ACP Program.
- Grading and providing constructive feedback for all program assessments.
- Provide ongoing support for students in the ACP Program.

**Administrative Activities**:

- Develop and communicate course schedules and faculty schedules to ensure the seamless delivery of the ACP

Program.
- Update student resources, such as Blackboard as required throughout program.
- Perform administrative tasks related to program delivery such as exam preparation, equipment preparation,

curriculum development, and quality assurance.
- Participate in relevant committee work, including accreditation, program development/redesign, and other

curriculum related projects as assigned.

**Scholarly and research activities**:

- Active participation and/or leadership in Health Science Division research projects.
- Promote and support student and graduate research projects.
- Actively engage in the review and dissemination of current research within JIBC Health Sciences Division and the

wider paramedic community.
- Attend and present topics at conferences as appropriate.

**Qualifications & Requirements**:
**Academic**:

- Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, in relevant academic field (e.g., Health Sciences, Education, Clinical Practice) would

be considered an asset.
- Evidence of ongoing work towards gaining academic qualifications will also be considered.
- The ACP Program is committed to encouraging ongoing professional development and support will be offered

for appropriate further education undertaken by faculty.
**Related Experience**:

- Recent (within five years) direct work experience in the field as an ACP (or higher) Paramedic.
- Experience as an instructor, evaluator, preceptor, or similar role.
- JIBC INDC-1110 Essential Skills for Training and Facilitation course, or equivalent courses in Adult Education,

and/or instructional design is an asset.
- Equivalencies will be considered depending on education, research, and clinical experience.

**Other Knowledge/Training**:

- Have a background in, and knowledge of, concepts and clinical practices associated with paramedicine.
- A demonstrated commitment to education (preferably through previous teaching at the post-secondary level).
