**The Role**:
As the Manager, Policy and Government Relations, you will lead the Policy team and manage inter-governmental agreements and relationships. Under the Policy function, you will provide leadership in the development of policy, procedure, and practice guidance. You will also be responsible for government relations and the development of protocols, guidelines, agreements, and reports to define roles and responsibilities with partner ministries and other agencies.

Key responsibilities include:

- Support VP Governance and Communications and the Director, Governance and Policy to ensure effective policy governance
- Ensures the policy framework aligns with legislation, governance, and CLBC's Strategic Plan and Service Plan
- Continually develops, implements, evaluates and improves processes and tools to assure effective and efficient operations
- Recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, and supervising staff that are hired for the Policy Team and assigned projects
- Oversite of the Policy Framework, including processes for changing policies
- Development, implementation, and oversight of the Annual Policy Workplan
- Act as Process Steward for Memorandums of Understanding, Agreements and Guidelines with the Ministry of Health and Health Authorities, and the Ministries of Social Development and Poverty Reduction and Children and Family Development
- Effectively communicates project objectives, requirements, expectations, concepts, issues and progress to the team, senior management and other stakeholders as required

**Qualifications**:

- A Bachelor's degree in social sciences or a related discipline. A Master's degree in social sciences or a related discipline is preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the community living services field and at least 2 years within a leadership role
- Ability to develop and manage small and medium sized project plans and budgets
- Ability to design, develop and implement policy, procedures, standards, and guidance
- Ability to identify, analyze and assess emerging business issues, and develop and implement effective policies, standards and practices
- Knowledge of supports and services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families

**Travel**: Occasional overnight travel required within the province. Use of own vehicle on expenses.

**Hybrid work**: Combines on-site office work with flexibility to work from home within BC.

**Location**:This position can work from any CLBC office.
