**About the Role**:
Global News has an immediate full-time opportunity for a reporter, located in Quebec City and primarily covering politics and government activity at our National Assembly bureau. Reporting to the Managing Editor, Global Montreal, this role involves reporting, writing stories as well as live reporting. The work schedule is primarily Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm but may require some overtime - including longer days and occasional weekends. This is a Group 3 position in the current collective agreement.

- Report on the activity of the National Assembly of Quebec and the Quebec Government
- Generate original and enterprise news stories that reflect the Global Montreal audience.
- Produce engaging enterprise content for all news programs and platforms.
- Demand accountability from government, community and business leaders.
- Source community events and opportunities for original, enterprise and breaking news stories.
- Develop contacts within the community.
- Complete and file expense reports and other reports as necessary in a timely and accurate manner.
- Safely operate and maintain company vehicle as required.
- Perform other duties as required.

If you have the following we want to hear from you
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a reporter or digital broadcast journalist
- Excellent command of the English language and good comprehension of French.
- Proficient in reporting, writing and producing engaging content for broadcast, online and social media platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to create, curate and develop content using digital operating systems for multiple platforms.
- Strong live on-air presentation skills.
- Excellent reporting and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must work well under pressure and have a positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to meet strict daily deadlines and work co-operatively with others in a dynamic teamwork environment.
- Possessing a valid driver's license an asset
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and workflows as well as show a willingness to learn new online skills in a multi-faceted digital news operation.

Global News est à la recherche d’un(e) journaliste à temps plein situé à Québec et couvrant principalement la politique et l'activité gouvernementale à notre bureau de l'Assemblée nationale. Relevant du Redacteur en chef, Global Montréal, ce rôle comprend le reportage et l'écriture d'histoires. L'horaire de travail est principalement du lundi au vendredi de 9 h à 17 h, mais peut nécessiter des heures supplémentaires - y compris des journées plus longues et des fins de semaine occasionnels.

**Responsabilités**:
Relevant du rédacteur en chef, Global Montréal, ce qui suit résume les principales fonctions, mais ne décrit pas toutes les tâches et responsabilités qui peuvent être attribuées à ce poste:

- Produire des reportages sur les activités de l’Assemblée national du Québec et le Gouvernement du Québec.
- Générer des reportages originaux qui reflètent les téléspectateurs et lectures de Global Montreal.
- Produire du contenu engageant pour tous les programmes et plates-formes d'information.
- Exiger des comptes du gouvernement, de la communauté et des chefs d'entreprise.
- Trouver des événements communautaires et des opportunités pour des reportages originaux.
- Recueille l’information sur les lieux de l’événement et en fait le reportage sur les ondes
- Developper une base de contacts
- Remplir et classer les rapports de dépenses et autres rapports nécessaires en temps opportun et avec précision.
- Utiliser et entretenir en toute sécurité le véhicule de l'entreprise, au besoin.
- Effectuer d'autres tâches au besoin.
