Currently seeking a production supervisor on our Day Shift (8am-5pm), Monday to Friday to join the Northern Contours Team

Supervises employees and operations in one or more production functions (such as Routers, Press Line, Shipping or another comparable area) and/or across shifts. Proactively maintain production schedules, plan and assign work, train employees and has authority for hiring, termination, disciplinary action and performance decisions. Responsible for ensuring expectations are met/exceeded regarding delivery and cost/productivity while prioritizing safety, quality, continuous improvement and employee engagement.

**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide leadership to employees to ensure the company’s safety expectations and goals are met.
- Accomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.
- Maintains staff by selecting, orienting, training and developing employees.
- Maintains work flow by actively monitoring the process, managing variables and resources, facilitates problem solving, and fosters a spirit of cooperation and teamwork.
- Responsible for proper utilization of equipment and coordination with Maintenance on scheduling repairs and planned downtime as needed. Responsible for optimally managing material usage, proactively address potential outages, and identifying opportunities to reduce scrap.
- Achieve production expectations by routinely understanding demand, setting schedules, and proactively developing and executing labor/staffing plans.
- Take full responsibility of the quality of product that is produced in line with the company’s quality systems, processes and procedures.
- Utilize provided systems to provide manufacturing information through reporting and analyzing production performance records and data.
- Be responsive and timely to internal and external requests.
- Identify, suggest and carry out changes to systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control and budgets.
- Responsible for achieving goals regarding safety, quality, delivery and cost for the assigned area/crew.
- Collaborate with peer supervisors and plant leadership to coordinate activities between departments, share goals and optimize performance for the entire plant.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying waste in processes, providing solutions and implementing change - may take form of leading Kaizens or improvement projects.
- Promote constructive problem solving by utilizing facts and data to arrive at root cause leading to solutions.
- Constructively manage and positively promote change with the shop floor.
- Encourage empowering employees when opportunities arise, and develop team members to increase skills for flexibility and potential future advancement.
- Manages employee time and attendance through time mangement system
- Other duties as assigned

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS**:

- High School Diploma/GED
- Preferred 2-4 years post-secondary education.
- Minimum 4 years of manufacturing experience and/or training.
- Logistics and Shipping experience
- Must have good leadership skills, job knowledge and organizational skills.
- Must be adept in the activities of the workforce.
- Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to manage conflict, promote change, and constructively problem solve.
- Must have the ability to motivate employees and maintain high morale.
