**Job title: Production Supervisor**

**Report to: Operations Manager**

**Summary statement**:
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the incumbent performs a variety of supervisory tasks and oversees the production requirements of the company in a multi-shift, unionized manufacturing environment. These requirements include directing work, upholding and enforcing company policies and procedures, issuing discipline, training and documentation, conducting and reporting all accident and hazard investigations and abiding by the parameters set out under the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA). The incumbent must perform work with great attention to detail and accuracy. High trust position that includes opening and closing the facilities and working with mínimal supervision.

**Major duties and responsibilities**:
**Health and Safety**

1) Ensure production associates are fully trained to meet all safety standards.

2) Fully investigate all hazard and accident reporting and make recommendations based on investigation.

3) Demonstrate knowledge of and enforce the Provincial Occupation Health and Safety Act

4) Maintain safe and positive work environment.

5) Assist in monthly H&S plant inspection in conjunction with certified worker representative as required.

6) Participate in 5S program; maintain housekeeping.

**Production and Quality**

1) Ensure parts are being produced to fulfill business, customer and quality requirements..

2) Demonstrate good understanding of all operations (welding, press, tool and die, maintenance, order picking, quality assurance, machine operations, forklift operations).

3) Root cause/corrective action investigation and implementation (production and quality troubleshooting).

4) Other production duties as assigned.

**Administration**

1) Follow, uphold and enforce all company policies.

2) Coach, counsel and discipline production associates and document same.

3) Participate in interdepartmental cross-training as required.

4) Open and close the plant; set security systems, locks etc.

5) Assist in return-to-work management for injured/disabled employees.

6) Abide by and manage terms of CBA.

**Education, training, Experience**

1) Grade 12 diploma minimum.

2) College certificate or diploma in manufacturing or operations management preferred.

3) Work experience (3 years minimum) holding a supervisory or team-lead position in manufacturing, preferably in an automotive, just-in-time environment.

**Communication and Aptitudes**

1) Ability to read, write and clearly communicate in English

2) Ability to deal with associates (coworkers, hourly employees and managers) in a professional manner; using respectful business language at all times.

3) Work closely, cooperatively and effectively with other staff (team-oriented).

4) Demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving skills, analysis and controlled response to rapidly changing work and customer demands.

5) Accept ownership of functional work area and projects therein.

6) Demonstrate proactive thinking, energetic and hands-on leadership

7) Demonstrate high level of consciousness in all performance dimensions.

8) Participate in active and ongoing training and development as required.

9) Computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and MRP/ERP systems.

**Other**

1) Overtime as required

2) Shifts: Midnights 11:00pm - 7:00am Shift Premium: $2.00

Days 7:00am - 3:00pm Shift Premium: $1.00

Afternoons 3:00 - 11:00pm

3) Salary: Negotiable

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
