Saskatoon, Canada Canadian Light Source Inc. Full time

The Canadian Light Source Inc. (CLSI) is a national research facility of the University of Saskatchewan. CLS produces very bright light to explore the nature and structure of molecules, and serves national and international users from academia, industry, and government institutions.

**Responsibilities**
- Assists the Industrial Science group with industrial contracts, sample preparation, and data collection (mail-in or remote) on various beamlines, as needed. These duties may occur beyond normal working hours in accordance with established CLS procedures.
- Work with CLS beamline teams and may contribute a percentage of time to beamline activities including beamline support, maintenance and development, depending on experience.
- Works with the Industrial Science Manager and/or colleagues to develop data analysis, reporting and client management skills. Follows Industrial Science guidelines, procedures and best practices related to work flow, data collection, analysis and reporting. Analyzes data, creates figures and tables and drafts initial reports for experiments/contracts.
- May act as a liaison with industrial clients for Statements of Work, sample shipment, the measurement and analysis of samples, data transfer and the reporting of results to the client.
- May coordinate shipping, receiving and tracking of industrial samples as required.
- Exhibits a working knowledge of all health and safety guidelines. Reports near misses, safety incidents and non-conformances following CLS guidelines.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Undergraduate or Master’s Degree in a Natural Science or related field is required.
- Minimum of three years of related experience in a synchrotron or related scientific laboratory setting is required.
- Laboratory experience is a requirement, especially related to environmental projects.
- Experience working with environmental data related to mining and/or remediation is an asset.
- Good written and oral communication skills are essential.
