**Role: Sales Margin Analyst**
Safety Express is part of Aramsco’s family of companies, a leading solutions provider to specialty contractors across North America, serving numerous end markets including abatement, restoration, environmental, emergency preparedness, stone care, cleaning, and surface preparation. The company has more than 70 locations, 12 located in Canada, through which it distributes products, equipment, and chemicals, and provides customers with other value-added services including equipment repair, equipment rental and education.
- **Job Objective**:
The Margin Analyst will be an integral part of the team that supports sales with the key focus on driving incremental gross margin. Our Sales Margin Analyst will provide analytical and strategic support by using system and competitive data to identify opportunities to optimize sales and profitability through pricing strategies and process enhancements. This role will manage all aspects of product pricing in accordance with company policies and procedures. The incumbent will partner with sales, customer service, product management, procurement, and other functions to design and execute pricing processes and margin management strategies, balancing improved profitability and maintaining competitive market alignment. The Margin Analyst will also design, develop, and assess any new processes or tools used for pricing optimization and execution with a focus on continuous margin improvement.
**Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities**:

- Identify and present to Leadership, opportunities to optimize sales and drive profitability/EBITDA through enhancements to pricing strategies and processes
- Analyze trends in supplier, customer, market, item, price, cost, inflation, foreign exchange and margin data to present market-based pricing analyses monthly to recommendation list price changes to Leadership (DOS/DSI), building margins wherever possible
- Working closely with the Director of Sales and Director of Strategic Initiatives to maintain customer segment price lists that support sales and gross margin growth for large customers and national accounts, aligned with cost pass through and margin capture
- Partnering with the Regional Sales Managers, Branch Managers and Inside/Outside Sales Representatives, to develop and manage regional and local customer contracts. This includes training and coaching new and existing team members on our pricing strategy and proper use of local contract pricing.
- Develop and report suggested sales rep activity, price overrides, scorecards, and other reporting to support Sales Leadership, reporting needs to be analyzed with actionable insights provided to Sales Leadership
- Develop and present customer lifetime value reporting, provide insights on customer product margins, freight & payment terms, as compared to the customers sales volume and like customers
- Analyze and action competitive information brought forth by our price match guarantee or from team members. Continually research competitor activities to stay ahead of industry shifts. Research and resolve any pricing errors in the ERP/Streamline and respond to any team pricing inquiries.
- When margin erosion is identified, work with vendor management to mitigate and/or sales team to sell alternative/higher margin products
- Maximize use of Sales-I (CRM); develop reporting and/or campaigns to communicate opportunities to be actioned by the sales team that will drive increased sales, margins, or a proprietary shift
- Manage sales/vendor incentive programs through tracking and reporting
- Manage new product pricing for all levels of pricing (List, Affiliate, etc)
- Support sales team with ad-hoc reporting and ongoing data mining to drive margin and/or sales
- Annual budgeting support
- Support OSR/RSM/DOS through the sales budgeting process with in-depth GM support
- Support RSM/OSR/ISR in developing actionable annual plans through data analytics
- Assist with other projects/duties as required
- **Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree in related field, business/engineering/statistics/mathematics or related
- 3 to 5 years work experience within pricing, finance or similar roles
- Strong analytical skills using tools such as Tableau, Salesi, ERPs, MS excel pivot tables, scenario and sensitivity analysis
- Strong technical skills (Streamline/Salesi) and adept at learning new systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including excel, word, powerpoint
- Excellent follow-up and follow-thru skills and a high sense of urgency
