St. Clair College is seeking an experienced and motivated professional who shares our commitment to quality and student success.

The incumbent is responsible for providing ongoing support to St. Clair College students from the pre-employment phase of job search through to job offers. This support involves: assisting with development of effective resume/cover letters for a successful job search; providing information regarding networking and independent job search techniques (including overcoming employment barriers); preparing students for the interview process; and communicating current and accurate labour market information. The incumbent provides career advice to students and is responsible for all career-related support to maximize job search success. The Career Services Officer, under the direction of the Manager,
Experiential Learning & Career Services, will liaise with academic staff to ensure a smooth work-integrated learning process for our students. The incumbent must act in a manner consistent with the professional standards of confidentiality, ethics and prescribed accountability systems/ processes of the Ministry and the College.

**CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Prepare St. Clair College Students for Successful WIL (Work Integrated Learning) Experiences: 30%**
- Prepare students for the workplace by assisting students to develop a variety of tools for success. These tools include: an effective and relevant resume/cover letter, skills for independent job search, appropriate and professional interview skills, workplace etiquette, job retention, etc.
- Assist students in identifying and resolving employment barriers and workplace challenges and refers then to the appropriate resources.
- Student workplace preparation may be achieved in a variety of ways and via a variety of delivery methods including but not limited to individual and small and large group interactions and using a variety of e-learning tools.
- Using approved guidelines gauge student readiness and suitability for job search and access to job postings.
- Using in depth program and industry knowledge guide both students and employers to obtain effective skill and job requirement harmonizing.
- Collaboration with academic sector staff for successful work-integrated learning experiences for students and employers.
- Develop and maintain networks with various service departments, faculty, student government, and alumni association.
- Participate in the review and updating of resource material, labour market information and related forms, guidelines and processes.

**Employer Development 30%**
- Assist with the development of program-related work-integrated-learning/employment opportunities for St. Clair College students and help establish/maintain relationships with employers. When needed, provide assistance and/or advice regarding relevancy of work experience and other workplace issues. Regular and robust communication with academic sector staff is required in relation to learning outcomes as well as research and outreach to identify employer/industry expectations and trends.

**CareerCentral ORBIS Outcomes Platform 30%**
- As a key CareerCentral portal staff role, provides project management and technical skills support with the implementation, ongoing delivery, requisite maintenance, and updates for the CareerCentral ORBIS Outcomes portal/platform.
- Maintain and keep current Career Services and related electronic resources.

**Site Visits 5%**
- When required, acts a liaison with students and employers in the monitoring of student work-integrated-learning experiences by conducting site visits (by phone, in person and/or virtually (e.g. Teams mtg.) using established reporting tools and where appropriate assessing work term reports and employer evaluations.
- Ensure students are aware of work-integrated-learning requirements. Assist in the resolution of workplace related problems or issues and refer to appropriate academic sector staff as necessary.

**Other duties as assigned** **5%**
- Promote related Career Services programs and services whether in person or virtually through College orientation, Open Houses and information activities.
- Assist with other projects and special initiatives as required.
- Maintain records, as per departmental requirements using a variety of software tools, as well as hard copy records as required.
