Oakville, Canada Sheridan College Full time

The Parking Compliance Officer will be responsible for issuing parking tickets and monitoring the state of Sheridan's parking lots to ensure a safe parking experience on campus. Duties include coordinating snow removal, identifying hazards within the parking lot, and coordinating with other enforcement personnel.

What You’ll be Doing

Monitoring the parking lot using Sheridan’s License Plate Recognition (LPR) vehicle or on foot and issues citations to motorists in violation of Sheridan’s Parking Regulations;
Issuing parking citations for expired permits, improper use of specially designated or timed parking spots, improper parking or parking in reserved spots and related violations;
Coordinating with the Parking Office and the contracted towing company to arrange towing of unregistered scofflaw vehicles;
Participating in planning for special events, including meeting with clients and coordinating with the client on additional signages needed for the event and cover/uncover pay stations as needed;
Monitoring the parking meters regularly for malfunctions to ensure proper operating conditions;
Collecting cashboxes from the pay stations and deposits the cash with Sheridan's Finance department;
Contacting the service technicians to address any technical issues;
Collecting data and evidence on any parking-related incidents and following the proper reporting process as established by the parking office and office of security;
Ensuring appropriate parking signs are posted and conforms to parking by-laws for enforcement purposes;
Assisting with seasonal locker clean-out activity (e.g., collecting and documenting locker contents prior to moving it to the storage room);
Providing guidance, training, and direction to temporary parking enforcers for all duties including enforcement and event parking;
Performing other related duties as assigned.

3-year diploma/degree in a related field of study such as Security Studies or Investigations.

Minimum of 2 years experience in a parking enforcement environment (equivalency will be considered).

Experience working in customer service, along with experience in conflict resolution, being a team lead and working in an outdoor environment.

Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
