Event Planner

**Title: EVENT PLANNER**

**Purpose**:To support WCS staff in marketing, promoting and requesting donations for WCS summer fundraising and community events.

**Responsibilities**:

- To be an active member of the Woolwich Community Services team
- To complete projects as assigned over the summer months with direction from Community Engagement Coordinator
- Assist with the implementation of social inclusion programs at the Community Hub
- To assist with the organization of the annual golf tournament in support of Family Violence Prevention
- To make requests to local businesses for prizes and support to golf tournament
- To assist with the coordination of the Back Pack program
- Marketing/promotion of Thrift Shop including sidewalk sale
- Coordinate donations, for the Community barbeque in support at WCS Community Hub
- Other duties that may be assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Must be a student of a program related to marketing, event planning or fundraising
- Enthusiastic and friendly personality
- Excellent communication, computer and organizational skills
- Sales background is an asset
- Knowledge of local community
- Use of a car

**Time Commitment**:

- 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 10 weeks
- Start June 26, 2023 for September 1, 2023
- $16.00 per hour
- In person: 5 Memorial Ave. Elmira

This employer has applied to the Canada Summer Jobs initiative. This program provides wage subsidies to employers to create employment for secondary and post-secondary students. Contract length: 10 weeks

**Salary**: $16.00 per hour
